Elderly people who live in nursing homes will be assisted by caregivers, therefore the use of appropriate communication is very necessary. Objective: This study aims to determine the role of caregivers' interpersonal communication in increasing the ADL independence of elderly people in nursing homes. Method: This research used a qualitative method with 2 caregivers and 2 elderly informants selected based on purposive techniques. Data collection techniques were carried out using observation, in-depth interviews, and document studies as well as descriptive data analysis techniques using percentages. Result: Based on the research results and discussion, it can be concluded in this research as follows: (1). Overall, the role of caregivers interpersonal communication in increasing the ADL independence of the elderly is concluded to be quite good. (2). The language used by caregivers is very appropriate in communicating with the elderly. (3). Non-verbal communication carried out by caregivers in interacting with the elderly is by using movements, gestures, facial expressions, symbols and varied voice intonations. (4). The message conveyed in the caregiver's interpersonal communication with the elderly is more about the concept of learning and motivating the elderly to more quickly understand what the caregiver means. Conclusion: There is a need for training in interpersonal communication techniques specifically for the elderly for nursing home caregivers or other parties who may interact intensively with the elderly.
2024-09-30T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Aneng Yuningsih, Betty Suprapti, Aan Somana https://ojs.stikesmucis.ac.id/index.php/nuri/article/view/708 The Relationship Between Stress Level and Menstrual Cycle in Final Year Students 2024-10-02T15:08:40+07:00 Ima Sukmawati sukma90@gmail.com Nita Ayu Safitri nitaayu@gmail.com Asep Gunawan asepgunawan@gmail.com Diny Nur Fauziah dininurfauziah@gmail.com Rosidah Solihah rosidahsolihah11@gmail.com
Introduction: According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), 38.45% of adolescent problems are related to menstrual disorders. Menstrual disorders are abnormalities that occur in the menstrual cycle. Signs and symptoms of menstrual disorders include too little or too much menstrual blood, menstrual pain, and depression before menstruation or premenstrual dysphoric disorder. One factor that affects the menstrual cycle is stress. Stress impacts overall physical and psychological health such as insomnia, headaches, personality disorders, anxiety disorders, depression. Final year students as academic individuals are also inseparable from stress in their daily activities which can cause menstrual cycle disorders. Objective: To determine the relationship between stress level and menstrual cycle in final year students at STIKes Muhamamdiyah Ciamis. Method: The research method is quantitative with cross sectional research design. The sampling technique was proportional random sampling using the Slovin formula so that a sample of 63 respondents was obtained, namely final year students at STIKes Muhammadiyah Ciamis. The research instrument was a questionnaire sheet. Data analysis using univariate and bivariate analysis with chi square statistical test. Result: The highest frequency stress level was severe stress category as many as 23 respondents (36,5%). The highest frequency menstrual cycle is normal category as many as 34 people (54.0%). Statistical test results with chi square test obtained (p = 0.036 < 0.05). Conclusion: There is a relationship between stress level and menstrual cycle in final year students at STIKes Muhammadiyah Ciamis.
2024-09-30T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Ima Sukmawati, Nita Ayu Safitri, Asep Gunawan, Diny Nur Fauziah, Rosidah Solihah https://ojs.stikesmucis.ac.id/index.php/nuri/article/view/713 The Relationship between the Knowledge of Posyandu Cadres and the Implementation of Stunting Prevention in Community Midwifery Practices 2024-10-24T07:19:57+07:00 Maria Ulfah Jamil maria.ulfah@bku.ac.id Novianti Rizki Amalia novianti.rizki@bku.ac.id Asep Mulyana asep.mulyana@bku.ac.id Heni Nurakilah heni.nurakilah@bku.ac.id
Introduction: Stunting is a child's failure to achieve his growth potential due to serious malnutrition and often experiencing illness in his childhood, thus determining his growth and development abilities and mental and will cause long-term damage. The prevalence of stunting in Indonesia from the results of the Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey (SSGI) decreased from 24.4% in 2021 to 21.6% in 2022, while the World Health Organization (WHO) standard must be below 20%. The problem of stunting is a big problem, because in stunted children, not only their physical growth is disturbed, but it will also affect their brains. In handling stunting, the government involves several parties, one of which is posyandu cadres, but not all posyandu cadres know about stunting prevention. Objective: The purpose of this study is to find out and evaluate the relationship between the knowledge of posyandu cadres and the implementation of stunting prevention in community midwifery practices. Method: The method used in this research is an analytical survey with a cross sectional approach. The sample in this study met the inclusion criteria as many as 21 people. Result: The results of this study show that good posyandu cadres have a high level of knowledge in implementing stunting prevention in community work practices. Conclusion: Based on the research results obtained, there is a relationship between posyandu cadres' knowledge and the implementation of stunting prevention.
2024-12-14T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Maria Ulfah Jamil, Novianti Rizki Amalia, Asep Mulyana, Heni Nurakilah https://ojs.stikesmucis.ac.id/index.php/nuri/article/view/728 The Effect of Feeding Red Bean Ice Cream on Weight Increasing Wasting Toddler in the Working Area of the Kawalu Health Center 2024-11-28T16:37:57+07:00 Asep Mulyana asep.mulyana@bku.ac.id Baharudin Luthfi baharudin.luthfi@bku.ac.id Heni Aguspita Dewi heni.aguspita@bku.ac.id Maria Ulfah Jamil maria.ulfah@bku.ac.id
Introduction: One of the SDGs targets is that by 2030 all countries will strive to reduce the under-five mortality rate by 25/1,000 live births. In addition to the 2030 public nutrition target, all countries are working to end all forms of malnutrition, including achieving the 2025 international target which aims to reduce stunting and wasting in children under five and address the nutritional needs of adolescent girls, pregnant and breastfeeding women, as well as elderly. Malnutrition will have a negative impact on physical and mental growth which will then hinder learning achievement. During the toddler years, the growth and development of brain cells is so rapid that they require optimal and optimal nutritional intake and stimulus. Toddlers are vulnerable to nutritional disorders because at this time they need nutrition for their growth and development. Apart from that, toddlers are very passive regarding food intake so that toddlers will depend on their parents. Objective: The aim of this research was to determine the effect of giving red bean ice cream on increasing the weight of wasting toddlers. Method: This research is quantitative research, with a pre-experimental design method using a one group pretest posttest design approach. The sample in this study was 15 toddlers who experienced wasting. Result: The results of this study indicate that there is an influence of red bean ice cream on weight gain in wasting toddlers. Conclusion: Based on the research results obtained, there is an effect of giving red bean ice cream on increasing the weight of wasting toddlers.
2024-12-14T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Asep Mulyana, Baharudin Luthfi, Heni Aguspita Dewi, Maria Ulfah Jamil https://ojs.stikesmucis.ac.id/index.php/nuri/article/view/730 Literature Review: Factors Risks that Influence the Incidence of Stunting 2024-11-28T17:22:00+07:00 Dini Ariani dini.ariani817@gmail.com Hani Septiani haniseptiani129@gmail.com Yanti Srinayanti zeevanayanti80@gmail.com Rosidah Solihah rosidahsolihah11@gmail.com
Introduction: Stunting is associated with impaired growth and development in children.
